Wintry conditions hit parts of Melbourne in the late afternoon of Thursday, February 2.
A Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) spokesperson said impacts from the weather event were “widespread but not severe”.
“Since 4pm yesterday to 9am today, VICSES volunteers received 147 requests for assistance (RFAs) across 63 VICSES units throughout Victoria,” the spokesperson said.
“Calls for help mainly related to trees down (75), building damage (31), and flooding related incidents (14).
“Our volunteers would ask the public not to park under trees during periods of high wind, and to drive to the conditions when travelling through inclement weather.”
