Woman charged with Williamstown stabbing

An Altona Meadows woman has been charged with the stabbing of a Williamstown man early last Thursday morning.

The woman, 47, was taken into custody by police at a Rockbank address about 11.45am on Wednesday.

A man remains in hospital after being stabbed multiple times at his home in the Strand.

The victim has been identified as Peter Gantidis, 53, who owns Melbourne River Cruises.

Mr Gantidis’ injuries to the upper body were described as life-threatening but his condition has improved to stable.

The woman has been charged with aggravated burglary, intentionally causing serious injury and other assault related offences.
