A woman has been found dead in an overnight house fire at Laverton.

Firefighters were called to a home in Badge Court just after midnight after receiving a number of panicked calls.

They arrived in just over four minutes to find a single story brick home completely engulfed in flames.

Inside, they found the body of a woman, aged about 50.

A man in his 50s was taken to Werribee Mercy Hospital in a stable condition.

A man in his 20s was taken to The Alfred with minor upper body injuries and in a stable condition.

A man in his 60s was taken to same hospital in a stable condition.

It took 25 firefighters about one and a half hours to bring the fire under control.

A crime scene has been established.

A forensic chemist and fire investigators are examining the scene this morning to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
