Women’s honour roll nominations open

Victorians are being encouraged to recognise women who have made outstanding contributions to Victoria by nominating them for the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

Victorians are encouraged to nominate women from all walks of life, cultural backgrounds and age groups to be recognised across four categories – Local Champion, Change Agent, Emerging Leader and Trailblazer.

The Honour Roll celebrates their achievements across fields such as social justice, health science, research, arts, environment, law, media and education.

Last year’s 21 Honour Roll inductees included folk musician turned Federal-Court judge Judy Small AM, renowned endocrinologist Associate Professor Ada Cheung and Yorta Yorta artist and cultural practitioner, Aunty Rochelle Patten.

More than 750 women have been inducted since the Honour Roll of Women began in 2001.

“Whether it’s changing lives in a lab or in their community, the Honour Roll is a chance to highlight incredible women from all walks of life who spend their days making a difference,” Minister for Women Natalie Hutchins said.

“The Honour Roll recognises outstanding and determined women who lead in their fields, are strengthening their communities or have bright futures ahead of them.”

Nominations close on Sunday, March 16. Details: vic.gov.au/honour-roll-women
