Maribyrnong literary enthusiasts are encouraged to come along to a special Melbourne Writers Festival event featuring author Claire G. Coleman.

Ms Coleman will be taking part in a Q&A session with senior journalist Miki Perkins and providing attendees with a taste of her new novel ‘Enclave’ on Saturday, September 10 from 2pm at Footscray library.

The novel explores a future of surveillance, disruption and segregation which echoes the horrors of Australia’s colonial past.

Maribyrnong mayor Anthony Tran said it will be an “honour” to host Ms Coleman in Footscray as part of the festival.

“It is a real treat to see the Melbourne Writers Festival returning in-person in 2022,” he said.

“I am sure locals and visitors to Footscray will thoroughly enjoy this live chat with Claire to unpack her new novel Enclave.”

The Melbourne Writers Festival is running from Thursday, September 8 to Sunday, September 11.
