Rides and face-painting kept youngsters entertained in the Kids Kingdom, while a colourful line-up of pooches strutting their stuff in the Pets Parade reminded everyone of why the event is a festival favourite.

Maribyrnong mayor Cameron McDonald said the festival had been a memorable annual event for 35 years.

“This is one of the best family events with its children’s, multicultural, community and jazz stages,” he said.
