Yarraville shopkeeper threatened with scissors

Police are searching for a man who threatened a Yarraville service station worker with a pair of scissors during an armed robbery on Tuesday.

Altona North Embona detectives say the man entered the service station on the corner of Williamstown Road and Francis Street around 4.40am.

He snuck up behind the lone attendant, who was cleaning shelves, and threatened him with a pair of scissors.

Leading Senior Constable Adam West said the offender assaulted the attendant and forced him to open the till.

The man stole a small amount of cash before leaving the store and heading east along Francis Street.

Detectives have released images and CCTV footage of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
