Parkside player-coach Nathan Juegan has called on the Western
Region Football League to re-think its scheduling of division 2 finals
at Crofts Reserve.
Juegan has branded the playing surface unsafe and spectator facilities inadequate.
“I think they can come up with a better solution than playing
finals at Crofts Reserve,” he said. “The ground was rock-hard – it’s
open to the wind and I don’t think it’s a spectators ground.
“If I had a choice, we wouldn’t play finals footy there.”
Juegan and his players were “looking forward” to getting on to the
plush surface at Chirnside Park in Werribee for the grand final against
Glenorden.
“It’s a terrific ground and it’s in good order,” he said.
