AFL: Western Bulldogs promote Tom Campbell and Jason Johannisen to senior list

WESTERN BULLDOGS FIXTURE 2013

WESTERN Bulldogs have upgraded versatile tall Tom Campbell and running half back Jason Johannisen to their primary list for the 2013 AFL season.

Campbell and Johannisen got a taste of the big league after impressing with Williamstown in the Victorian Football League last season and did not look out of place at the top level.

Campbell’s main responsibility was to work as a back-up ruckman to No. 1 big Will Minson and it had the unexpected benefit of freeing up youngster Jordan Roughead to be used in a key defensive post.

Johannisen caught the eye late in the season when he slotted into a position in the backline, offering plenty of dash out of defensive 50.

The Bulldogs intend to retain rookies Alex Greenwood, Jack Redpath, Mark Austin and Lin Jong.
