Altona keeps leaving it right to the end as it tries to get to its first Hockey Victoria men’s grand final since 1999.

The A’s are one of the four teams left in the men’s Premier League competition, with grand final spots on the line on Saturday.

For the A’s it’s the first time they made a preliminary final since 2017. They will face Camberwell.

It’s on the back of back-to-back penalty shootout wins.

In their elimination final, the A’s beat Essendon 4-3. Essendon had won the most recent match between the two sides.

The A’s then backed it up on the weekend beating minor premier Waverley, 6-5.

MCC will face Doncaster in the other preliminary final.

It has been a big week for a couple of Altona players with Cooper Burns and Connar Otterbach. The duo have just been picked in the under-21 Australian team to play in the Sultan of Johor Cup in early 2023.
