Who can stop Altona Magic from coasting to the National Premier League 2 west title?

The Magic has opened up a massive eight-point gulf at the top of the ladder.

The Goran Lozanovski-coached Magic made it seven wins from their past eight matches in a 3-1 victory over North Geelong Warriors at Paisley Park on Saturday night.

Ben Litfin put Altona ahead in the seventh minute with his sixth goal of the campaign.

Daniel Kuczynski doubled the Magic’s advantage in the 31st minute.

Kuczynski is in white-hot scoring form having fired in a hat-trick the week earlier.

Darius Madison breathed life into the contest for North Geelong, scoring six minutes before half-time. But Altona’s two-goal lead was restored in the second half through Jon McShane for his 13th of the season.

In the state leagues, Altona City is peaking at the right time of the men’s state league 1 season with a third win in four matches. Adamson Ajayi, Callum Byrne and Zac Thompson scored for City in a 3-1 win over Western Suburbs.

Altona East Phoenix went down 3-2 to Corio in men’s state league 2.

Williamstown was pipped 1-0 away to Moreland United in men’s state league 3.

Altona North held men’s state league 4 leaders Western Eagles in a nil-all-draw.

Laverton’s promotion chances suffered a blow with a 1-0 loss to North Melbourne Athletic.

Melbourne Lions and Maribyrnong Greens had a day to forget in men’s state league 5. The Lions were crushed 7-0 by Gisborne, while the Greens lost 4-1 to Moonee Valley Knights.

In women’s state league 3, Altona Magic had a 6-0 victory over Gisborne.

Altona City went down 7-1 to runaway ladder-leader Hume City, while Maribyrnong Swifts lost 5-0 to Melbourne University.
