Altona Magic makes it four on the trot at home

Altona Magic is successfully defending its territory in the Football Federation Victoria men’s state league 1 north-west.

Four home games to start the season have resulted in four wins for the title-contending Magic.

The latest victims were the Preston Lions, the Magic winning 2-1 in the friendly confines of Paisley Park on Saturday night.

One player relishing the home comforts is Magic striker Adamson Ajayi.

Ajayi fired in a double to sink the Lions, taking his tally to a league-best six goals in four games.

Altona will play a fifth straight games at home when it hosts Yarraville Glory in the local derby on Saturday night.

Altona East Phoenix registered its first point of the season in a 2-2 draw with Essendon Royals. The Phoenix came back from two goals down at half-time.

Altona City is living up to its reputation as one of the sides to beat in state league 2. City kept in touch with top two sides Hoppers Crossing and Fitzroy City with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Sporting Whittlesea at Kim Reserve.

Williamstown beat Epping City 2-1 at JT Gray Reserve.

Goals to Daniel Trajkoski and Bobby Lojanica saw the Blues claim their third win in four games. The second-placed Blues will face top-of-the-ladder La Trobe University on the road on Saturday.

Melbourne City is still without a point after a 4-2 loss to Fawkner at Edwards Reserve.
