Altona Sports tumble to fifth

Altona Sports has put in an uncharacteristically poor showing in a 111-69 loss to Deer Park away in Bowls Victoria division 1 on Saturday.

Sports, which entered the round sitting in the top four, lost for just a third time this season and fell to fifth as a result.

In premier division, Altona’s rut extended another week as it went down 89-82 to Clayton.

The A’s, last year’s premiers, have lost three on the trot and have dropped to third.

Yarraville-Footscray rose to fifth after an 81-72 win over Bundoora RSL.

In division 2, Rosamond leapt out of the cellar with an upset 80-79 victory over title contender Richmond Union.
