Altona Magic’s hopes of a top six finish received another setback after a loss to Heidelberg United on Saturday. Heidelberg scored in the 18th minute to hit the front. It would be the only goal of the game, with Heidelberg winning 1-0. The loss is the Magic’s second in a row . The Magic sit ninth on the ladder with seven wins, but are now nine points outside the top six. This week they face Port Melbourne Sharks at home on Saturday night.

Williamstown CYMS weren’t able to convert a solid start against Fitzroy in the Victorian Amateur Football League premier B competition. The CYs led at quarter time by four points, before Fitzroy hit the front in the second score. The CYs were still in the game at three quarter time, trailing by 16 points at the last break. Four goals to three in the final quarter, sealed the 13.14 (92)-9.13 (67) win for Fitzroy. Jai Haines and Thomas Johnstone were the Lions best. The CYs sit in eighth spot with two wins. This week they face Old Carey.
