Altona’s up and down form in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association east-west competition has continued.

After a strong start to the season when the side was sitting on top of the ladder, the A’s have had some tougher results in recent rounds.

Playing two-day cricket for the first time since before COVID-19, the A’s had a first up hard task against Werribee.

The A’s elected to bat at Chirnside Park and were soon in trouble at 3-2.

The A’s were able to put together some small partnerships, but no one was able to go on with it and the side was eventually bowled out for 133 in the 58th over.

Charlie Ward, who came in at number eight, top scored with 27. The Tigers shared the wickets around.

The Tigers were quickly in trouble at 2-8, but steadied and will resume at 2-38.

Williamstown piled on the runs against Hoppers Crossing.

The Seagulls made 5-295 from their overs with Jack Craig making 81 and James Cook finishing 80 not out.

Simon Lambert was the pick of the bowlers for Hoppers Crossing.

Yarraville has set a competitive total against ladder leaders Spotswood.

The Eagles won the toss and decided to bat. After they lost two early wickets, the Eagles were able to steady.

They were able to put on some partnerships with most of the middle order making contributions, as the side finished 7-263.

Aidan Salvado continued his good form with the bat, making 79 at the top of the order. He has now made 606 runs at an average of 86.57 this season, the most in the competition.

Woodsmen playing coach Dan Schuppan was the pick of their bowlers, taking three wickets.
