Netherlands captain Scott Edwards had a night out for Altona Sports in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association T20 competition on Thursday.
A junior development coach at the club, Edwards made a guest appearance and put on a show against the RMIT Redbacks.
The Redbacks batted first and made 7-180 off their 20 overs.
Altona Sports got off to a flying start, putting on 101 for the first partnership. Captain Liam Brennan was out for 47 and a second wicket quickly fell.
Altona Sports led by Edwards continued on, hitting the winning runs with nearly five overs remaining.
Edwards finished 100 not out off 44 balls in an innings which included nine fours and eight sixes.
Meanwhile in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association T20 competition, Yarraville Club and the Druids opened with wins.
The Clubbers started the competition with a good win against Seddon.
Seddon won the toss and decided to bat, bowled out for 86 in the final over. Rhys Nicholas top scored with just 13.
Four Clubbers bowlers took two wickets apiece. Guest player Isaac Willett did the damage for the Clubbers, making 43 off 40 balls as the Clubbers finished with 3-89 in just 14.1 overs.
The Druids beat St Andrews Footscray.
The Wizards batters put on a display, hitting 6-192. St Andrews never looked likely and were bowled out for 87 with two balls remaining.
The Wizards and Sunshine Heights will face each other in the other pool match for a spot in the next round.
Gellibrand suffered a first up loss to Point Cook.
Point Cook made 4-196 before Gellibrand was restricted to 138. A win for Williamstown Imperials, which had the bye, in the third round of this pool against Gellibrand will seal a spot in the next round.
In other results, Grand United got a first up win against the Doutta Stars, Sunbury beat PEGS and Westmeadows had no issues with getting past Keilor Park.
Point Cook Centrals beat Werribee Centrals and Moonee Valley was too strong for Royal Park Brunswick.
