Wyndhamvale product Jack Fitzpatrick was one of four players to be delisted by AFL club Melbourne today.

Fitzpatrick, 24, who developed as a player through the Western Jets in the TAC Cup and did his schooling at MacKillop College in Werribee, played 22 games with the Demons over six seasons, mainly as a key forward and ruck.

The 200cm tall had better than a goal-a-game average with 24 goals, including 15 in 11 games in 2013.

Unfortunately, Fitzpatrick could not lock down a regular senior berth, managing just eight appearances in the past two seasons.

He never gave up on his dream of playing at the elite level, despite a battle with chronic fatigue and diabetes.
