North Melbourne’s Eddie Ford will remain at the club until at least the end of 2025 after signing a one-year contract extension.
An exciting, high-flying medium forward, Ford was selected from the Western Jets with pick number 56 in the 2020 AFL draft.
He played his junior football at Point Cook and then Yarraville Seddon including playing in the Eagles division 2 grand final as a 15-year-old.
The 22-year-old has since kicked 30 goals from his 36 appearances in the royal blue and white, including a career-high 14 across 14 games in 2024.
He earned a rising star nomination in the final round of 2023 for his three-goal, 19-disposal and eight-mark performance against Gold Coast.
North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings said the club was excited have another up-and-coming player in Ford re-sign.
“We’re excited to have to have Eddie sign on for 2025,” Rawlings said.
“Since establishing himself as a regular member of our senior line-up, Eddie has brought plenty of energy to our front half and shown his ability to play a few different roles and impact the scoreboard.
“We look forward to watching him continue his development at Arden Street.”
Ford becomes the seventh Roo to re-sign this year, joining Harry Sheezel, Tristan Xerri, Charlie Comben, Tom Powell, Brayden George and Kallan Dawson to commit to the club beyond this season.
