A breakout match for Western Bulldogs young gun Elisabeth Georgostathis has seen her recognised with a NAB AFLW rising star nomination.
Georgostathis starred in the Bulldogs win against Geelong on Friday night, having 23 possessions and kicking a goal in the club’s win.
The midfielder backed it up on Tuesday night in the Bulldogs’ catch up match against the Gold Coast Suns, with 19 disposals and six tackles.
Having been taken at pick nine in the 2019 AFLW draft, Georgostathis has not missed a match since making her debut in the opening round of 2020.
North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos’ Isabella Eddey is the other nominee for round seven.
Eddey’s versatility and ability to play in all three lines has made her an ever-present across her debut campaign. She is ranked second in disposal efficiency for the Kangaroos.
The two players will receive $500 prize money from NAB for being nominated.
Their junior clubs receive a NAB club recognition award pack of practical and financial resources worth $2000.
It will be a welcome boost for VU Western Spurs, where Georgostathis was drafted from.
