Williamstown has out-gunned Box Hill Hawks by 45 points in an all top-four clash in the Victorian Football League at Box Hill City Oval on Saturday.

The Seagulls had to overcome a slow start to turn a 13-point quarter-time deficit into a runaway win.

Michael Gibbons was at his best in the midfield, capping a best-on-ground performance with two goals, while Leigh Masters, Brett Bewley and Adam Marcon were the other influential Seagulls.

There was no shortage of Seagulls lining up for goals, with 10 individual goalkickers, including three to Ayce Cordy and Lachlan Schultz and two each to Masters, Gibbons and Arryn Siposs.

The third-placed Williamstown will face Collingwood at Victoria Park on Saturday at 1pm.

Meanwhile, Footscray was in control for most of the game in a 49-point win over Sandringham at Trevor Barker Beach Oval on Sunday.

The Bulldogs got their percentage upped significantly in a six-goal-to-two final term.

Forward Travis Cloke was back in the line-up and fired with three goals, while defender Bailey Williams staked his claim for a call-up to the Western Bulldogs with a best-on-ground display.

Footscray sits in fourth spot on the ladder ahead of a trip to Geelong on Saturday night.
