Lawford goes big

It was a Trent Lawford masterclass for the Yarraville Club on Saturday in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division.

Lawford was at his destructive best against Aberfeldie, helping guide the Clubbers to their first win of the season.

Lawford made a massive 151 off 86 balls which included 15 sixes and seven fours, as the Clubbers made 7-278 from their 40 overs.

The Clubbers bowlers then backed it up, bowling Aberfeldie out for 142 in the 33 over.

Heath Beveridge took 5-43 off eight overs.

The Druids suffered a second straight loss, losing to St Albans on the final ball.

The Druids made 8-130 from their overs.

St Albans needed the whole 40 overs to get the runs, finishing 5-131.

In other senior division games, Westmeadows is undefeated after beating Keilor on the back of a century to Donovan Pell, Haig Fawkner was too strong for Sunshine United and Deer Park got its first win in senior division, beating Craigieburn.

In division 1, Altona North was too strong for the Doutta Stars in a low scoring affair.

Altona North was bowled out for 100 with Luke Rainone top scoring with 20.

The Stars also failed to get going with the bat and were bowled out for 86.

Altona North shared the wickets around, with three players taking two each.

In division 2, West Newport beat Newport-Digman. Newport-Digman was bowled out for 85, before West Newport made 4-89 in reply.

Altona Roosters made 4-144 in reply with Williamstown CYMS’s 142. Footscray United snuck home against the Greenvale Kangaroos.

Footscray made 104 before bowling the Kangaroos out for 100.

Kingsville suffered a loss to St Andrews Pascoe Vale. St Andrews made 8-179 before bowling Kingsville out for 131.

In division 3, Williamstown Imperials lost to Caroline Springs, while in division 4, Williamstown Colts beat the Williamstown Congs, Roxburgh Park beat Laverton and Gellibrand beat St Andrews.
