Collingwood midcourter Maggie Lind hasn’t been offered a second Suncorp Super Netball contract.

Lind, who has been a star for the City West Falcons for a number of years in the Victorian Netball League, was rewarded for her body of work over a long time with a contract for the 2022 season.

She had joined Collingwood as a training partner in 2021 before being elevated to the senior list less than 12 months later.

Lind played seven national league games for the Magpies, playing behind Kelsey Browne, Molly Jovic and Ash Brazill in the midcourt.

Speaking after receiving her first Super Netball contract, Lind thought her opportunity at the top level in Australia had passed.

“I think I thought that a couple of years ago,” she said about her chances being over.

“I fell out of love with it for a couple of years. I thought stuff this, what is the point? I was being overlooked all the time.

“It wasn’t until maybe 2018, when I decided to play for the fun of it, I really started to enjoy my netball again and I really went in with the mindset that if I make it, I make it, it’s not a massive deal.

“I think that was the best thing for me to do. I think I was lucky I always had another career path and never just focused on netball.”

Collingwood netball general manager Amie Quirk, thanked Lind for her time at the club.

“We thank Maggie for being a part of our netball program over the past two years,” Quirk said.

“Maggie has contributed immensely to our netball program. She is a terrific person and we have valued having her part of our club.”

“We wish Maggie all the best with her future endeavours.”

Lind is back in City West Falcons colours and will play a major role for the side heading into finals.
