Seagulls defence starts at home

Williamstown will begin its VFL premiership defence with two home games at Burbank Oval in early April to start the season.

The Seagulls will host Richmond in the season opener before an eagerly anticipated grand final rematch with Box Hill Hawks.

The round two fixture with the Hawks will be the first of two Channel Seven broadcast games for the Seagulls in the opening month of the season, along with the home clash with traditional rival Port Melbourne in round four.

The Seagulls will play two night games, one away to Casey Scorpions in round three, the other against western suburbs rivals Werribee Tigers in round five.

They will also play a twilight game away to Collingwood in round nine.

Footscray kicks off its season at home to Northern Blues at the Victoria University Whitten Oval.

The VFL finals series will start on September 3 with the grand final on September 25.
