Williamstown’s good run of form has continued with another strong win, this time against Croydon in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association east-west.

After a slow start to the season, the Seagulls have now won four of their last five games, with the other a draw due to the rain.

On Saturday, the Seagulls restricted Croydon to 145, bowling it out with two balls remaining.

Daniel Popa continued his good form with the ball, taking three wickets.

The Seagulls openers got off to a flier and were never in trouble as the side hit the winning runs with more than three overs remaining.

The Seagulls made 3-146 with Jack Craig top scoring with 48.

Spotswood also continued its good form, with a big win against Box Hill.

The Woodsmen bowled Box Hill out for just 85.

Playing-coach Dan Schuppan was the pick of the bowlers, with 3-28 off nine overs.

The Woodsmen openers got the run chase off to a solid start. Taylor Tatterson lost his wicket just before the total was reached, but it meant little.

The Woodsmen finished 1-88 in just 15.1 overs

Jarrod Martignago finished 49 not out off 37 balls.

The win cements the Woodsmen’s spot on the top of the table, three points clear of Williamstown.

Altona slipped to sixth with a loss to Balwyn.

After being sent in, Balwyn was bowled out for 153 in the final over.

Shannon Clarke and Archie Scott took two wickets each for Altona.

The A’s started poorly and were in trouble at 3-14. It didn’t get much better, as the A’s slipped to 5-77.

The A’s looked like they might be able to sneak home, but lost three late wickets to halt the momentum.

The A’s finished 9-146. Scott top scored with 43.

Yarraville was unable to make it two in a row, losing to Werribee.

The Eagles were bowled out for 151 with one ball remaining. Aidan Salvado top scored with 65 at the top of the order.

The Eagles got an early wicket, but there was little joy after that with Werribee finishing 2-153.
