Two Western Bulldogs greats will be awarded AFL Life Membership.

Senior coach Luke Beveridge and former Club President Peter Gordon will be inducted at the 2022 Annual General Meeting in March.

Beveridge automatically qualifies for life membership after reaching 300 total AFL games as a player or coach during the 2021 season.

Gordon was recognised under the condition of ‘Special Service to the Game’.

As a player, Beveridge featured in 118 games and 16 pre-season games for Melbourne, Western Bulldogs and St Kilda.

He began his coaching career at the Bulldogs in 2015, and has since coached 160 home-and-away and finals games and nine pre-season games, and led the Dogs to their 2016 Premiership.

Gordon first served as Bulldogs’ President from 1989 to 1996, and most memorably helped save the Club from a potential merger with Fitzroy through the 1989 Fightback campaign.

Gordon returned to the role in 2012, and guided the Dogs to their second flag in the Club’s history.

He stepped down from the role of President at the end of 2020.

Other inductees include Phil Gallagher, Patrick Dangerfield, Josh Kennedy and Stuart Dew.
