Williamstown, Yarraville, Altona and Spotswood are set to make a return when Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association south-west comes back to the field this week following the Christmas break.

Werribee will host Williamstown in what should be a cracker, with the two teams among the contenders in recent years.

Not far down the road, Yarraville will host Altona in another important match in the context of the season.

Melton will hit the road and travel to Malvern as it returns to the field, while Spotswood will travel to Brighton and Taylors Lakes takes on Port Melbourne.

Hoppers Crossing will resume its season at home, taking on Elsternwick.

In the north-east competition, Plenty Valley faces Mt Waverley at Mount Waverley Reserve.

Meanwhile the under-15 Craig Shield competition gets underway on Sunday.

The competition includes many of Melbourne’s top under-15 players face off in one competition.

The competition will run across two weeks.
