Yarraville Glory upset National Premier League 2 side in the fourth round of the Australia Cup on Wednesday night.
National Premier League sides entered the competition in round four, giving some lower ranked sides the chance to test themselves against the top sides in the state.
The Glory needed extra time to get the win against Northcote, in a massive result.
Neither team could score in the first half.
Northcote went a man down in the 64th minute when Johnny Apostolopoulos was given a red card.
Shariff Abdul Karim scored for Glory from the resulting penalty.
Northcote hit back seven minutes later through a penalty of their own, with scores locked 1-1 at the end of regular time.
Daniel Parkinson scored in the 95th minute for the Glory and it would be enough to seal the win.
Altona Magic came out firing in their first Australia Cup match against the Bentleigh United Cobras.
It didn’t take long for the action to start with the Magic opening their account in the fourth minute through Robert Harding, with the Cobras leveling six minutes later.
The Magic got on a roll in the last 15 minutes of the half, scoring three goals to take a 4-1 lead at half time.
The procession would continue in the second half, with five more goals to secure the 9-1 win.
Harding scored three goals for the Magic, while Peter Skapetis scored twice after coming off the bench.
Williamstown, Altona City and Altona East Phoenix will play their fourth round matches next week.
