Movember: Williamstown businessmen’s growing ambitions

THREE Williamstown businessmen are encouraging residents to cultivate their ‘horseshoes, handlebars and howies’ for Movember this month.

For the past four years, Chris Fleming, of Brixton Pound Men’s Wear, has been taking part in the month-long challenge to grow a moustache to raise money and awareness of men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression. He believes doing it as a group will increase exposure for a good cause.

“I don’t think men’s health issues get talked about enough, particularly depression and prostate cancer. Movember is a great way to get a little more involved with raising awareness.”

Mr Fleming, who will donate $1 per transaction at his store to the fund-raiser throughout the month, will cultivate a handlebar moustache.

Cliff Butler, of Williamstown Osteopathy & Pilates, will be sporting the Tom Selleck Magnum P.I. look, and donating $1 per client towards the cause.

Nathan Bruton, of Boutique Fitness Gym, will also be joining the campaign. Donations can be made at the three stores.

Funds raised will go to the Prostate Foundation of Australia and beyondblue.
