$1.5 million family hub boost

A $1.5 million state government grant will help create an integrated child and family centre in the Braybrook Community Centre redevelopment. Western Metropolitan Region MP Andrew Elsbury says the the Braybrook Community Hub, as it will be known, will include a library, learning centre, meeting rooms and cafe.

Forum on TAFE cuts

A forum will be held next Wednesday to discuss the state government’s $290 million TAFE funding cuts. Williamstown MP Wade Noonan has organised the forum at Newport Bowls Club, 4 Market Street, Newport, from 5.30-6.45pm.

Man attacked in street

Police are investigating an attack on a man, 29, in Yarraville early on Sunday. He was walking in Highgate Street about 1.40am when he was confronted by about six young men, hit in the head and face and knocked to the ground. Police wish to speak to a group of women who tried to intervene. Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
