Teen charged over Footscray stabbings

A DOUBLE stabbing in Footscray last month – involving a melee in a McDonald’s car park – has resulted in a Richmond teenager being charged.

The alleged stabbing in Gordon Street, Footscray around 10.30pm on December 29 was followed moments later by another alleged stabbing in a McDonald’s car park in Ballarat Road.

Police executed search warrants at two homes in Richmond and Lalor on Wednesday morning and arrested three teenagers.

A Richmond boy, 16, was charged with intentionally causing serious injury and affray and bailed by police to appear in a children’s court in April.

Another Richmond boy, 17, and a Lalor man, 18, were interviewed but released pending further enquiries.

Police arrested a Bundoora man, 19, last month but also released him pending further investigation.

Police are still investigating the incidents and may charge more offenders.
