AFL: Western Bulldogs NAB Cup clash with Fremantle moved to Mandurah

THE Western Bulldogs third round NAB Cup clash with the Fremantle Dockers on March 9 has been moved to Mandurah.

The AFL announced today that it was forced to move the match from Northam due to player safety concerns over the turf at the venue.

The Western Australian Football Commission, Shire of Northam and the AFL’s turf consultants inspected the playing surface and turf works undertaken at Northam and agreed that it was not up to AFL standards.

The West Coast Eagles will hold a community camp in Northam, but the Bulldogs-Dockers will face off at Rushton Park in Mandurah.

”Rushton Park will be ready to host this match,” AFL’s general manager of broadcasting, scheduling and legal affairs Simon Lethlean said.

”Coupled with West Coast’s visit to Northam, enables regional fans in different parts of the state to access the two WA clubs before the premiership season.”
