Lock up vehicles at night

Tradies are being warned to lock away tools after a spate of thefts in Maribyrnong. Thieves have broken into vans and utes parked at night in residential streets, targeting expensive power tools and other items left in vehicles. Footscray police leading senior constable Craig McDonald said people could help protect against theft by securing building sites, locking vans and parking out of sight. Engraving tools can help identification when thieves try to sell them at second-hand shops.

Gallipoli study tour up for grabs
