FOOTSCRAY Edgewater has played a role in shaping the Victorian Premier Cricket first XI finals with a massive 116-run win over Richmond at Central Reserve.
The Bulldogs set up the game on day one by posting an imposing 9-342 declared.
Arun Harinath, a first-class player with Surrey in England’s county cricket, made an exquisite 138 off 196 balls.
The 25-year-old blasted 14 fours and occupied the crease for a patient 237 minutes.
The key ingredient for the Bulldogs was their batting around Harinath with nearly all players contributing.
The Bulldogs hardly put a foot wrong in defending their tally on a sticky day in the field, rolling the finals-hunting Tigers for just 226 in 58.4 overs.
The Bulldogs, 17 points outside the top eight and out of finals contention, will host Casey-South Melbourne in a two-day game at Merv Hughes Oval, starting Saturday.
