Police seek crash-car driver
Police are appealing for witnesses who saw a five-car collision on the Princes Freeway at Laverton North last week. The incident occurred between Fitzgerald Road and the Kororoit Creek Road overpass about 6am on Friday. Police believe a vehicle changed lanes and collided with another car, causing it to spin out of control before it was hit by a third vehicle. A prime mover and trailer were then involved in the collision. Police are trying to identify the driver and type of vehicle which changed lanes. Minor damage was caused to three cars, but no injuries were reported. Information to Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or crimestoppers.com.au

Crash corner gets upgraded
A notorious Hobsons Bay intersection has received traffic upgrades after a series of drivers ran red lights and endangered pedestrians. Western suburbs Liberal MP Bernie Finn said more prominent traffic lights, flashing pedestrian lights and guards would improve safety at the corner of Millers and Blackshaws roads. In the five years up to June 30 last year, there were eight casualty crashes at the intersection, four resulting in serious injuries.
