Katrina Vogelezang was menacing on both ends for the Gators en route to 16 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and three steals.

Alysha Carden-David was the most lethal shooter, hitting five-of-seven from the field for 12 points and five rebounds.

Sally Cameron (16 points and seven rebounds) and Ashley Patterson (13, 9) ) were the others who filled the stats sheet.

The Gators (1-2) have left the winless Jets (0-3) all alone at the bottom of the table and will be keen to square the ledger when they host the Warrandyte Venom (1-1) back at the Altona Sports Centre on Saturday night.

In the men’s division 1, it was a similar tale with the Gators breaking their duck in a comfortable 70-55 win over the Sunbury Jets.

The Gators were in command from the outset and never relented to have something to smile about finally after a rough start to the season.

Craig Martin was the go-to man for the Gators with a double-double 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Shaun Phelan (14 points and six rebounds) and John Wilkinson (10 points and nine rebounds) logged solid outings.

The Gators (1-2) host the bottom-placed Warrnambool Seahawks (0-3) at the Altona Sports Centre on Saturday night.
