Artists will exhibit their work in the LavARTon Art Show at the Woods Street Arts Space in Laverton from Friday-Tuesday. The exhibition will be launched at 6.30pm on Friday, with an art workshop the next day. Opening hours over the weekend are 11am-3pm. Visitors can vote for their favourite artwork with the ‘people’s choice’ winner receiving a $75 gift voucher for Art Republic in Hoppers Crossing.

Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses following the death of a man in Maribyrnong nearly two years ago. Five days to settle Briffa-Hemphill row

Five days have been set aside at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to hear a dispute between Hobsons Bay councillors Tony Briffa and Peter Hemphill. The dispute started mid-2011 when Cr Hemphill alleged misconduct over emails sent to former Mobil public relations adviser Maureen Short. Cr Hemphill subsequently alleged serious misconduct over the adequacy of Cr Briffa’s apology.

Walk in lakes reserve
