BRAYBROOK’S Dinjerra Primary School pupils learned the value of volunteering last week as they created a short film celebrating volunteers.
Working with Volunteer West and 100 Story Building, pupils interviewed volunteers from organisations including Western Health, the Footscray Hockey Club, Wheels in the West and Braybrook Community Garden.
Mayor Catherine Cumming says the council-funded Put Your Hands Up project will “give students an increased understanding and appreciation of the volunteer work being done in the Maribyrnong community”.
The short film premiered at Yarraville’s Sun Theatre last week as part of National Volunteer Week.
