INVESTIGATIONS are continuing in to a crash that claimed the life of a 73-year-old Newport woman at Altona on Sunday.
The woman was a passenger in a Toyota sedan travelling away from Altona along Millers Road just before 5pm.
A Ford station wagon travelling towards Altona crossed the median strip on to the wrong side of the road and hit the woman’s car .
Her name has not been released.
The man driving the Toyota suffered minor injuries. The Ford driver, 32, of Laverton, is assisting police with inquiries.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
