Williamstown elms sacrificed for safety 

FORTY-three of Williamstown’s 954 elms will be cut down and replaced with the same species this year. 

Over five years, 227 elms identified as a public risk will be removed by Hobsons Bay Council. Mayor Angela Altair said the council must act in the community’s safety.
