Bail denied
Police from the Wyndham Community Safety Team arrested a 21-year-old man in Bacchus Marsh on Tuesday last week. The man was remanded in custody after being charged with 21 offences, including serious assault, criminal damage and committing indictable offences on bail. Police said most of the charges related to crimes allegedly committed in Wyndham.
Chopper aids arrest
A police helicopter was used to help arrest a man in Hoppers Crossing last week. The 29-year-old, of no fixed address, was arrested after allegedly trying to flee from police in a vehicle. He was charged with four counts of making a threat to kill, aggravated assault, unlawful assault, evading police and careless driving. He was remanded in custody to face court on July 27.
Witnesses sought
Two men are expected to be charged with the theft of train-signalling equipment on June 22 which caused major disruption to Werribee line trains. A Hoppers Crossing man, 38, and a Werribee man, 31, were arrested on Friday. Police want to hear from anyone who saw a silver Holden Commodore station wagon with a trailer loitering in the Altona North area on June 22 or 23. Crimestoppers: 1800 333 000.
