Life’s a beach for dogs in Hobsons Bay

Dogs could be allocated a temporary beach for up to a month each year after complaints by residents to Hobsons Bay council about the Altona dog beach being covered in “black sludge” from the recent dredging of Altona safe harbour.

Each year, up to 5000 cubic metres of silt is poured on the beach when a build-up of sand is removed for boating.
