About 200 workers at a western suburbs distribution centre run by transport giant Linfox have protested over an alleged culture of bullying.
The warehouse is operated by Linfox for Coles, and it is the second time this week that staff at the centre have protested.
Among the crowd of workers who gathered during a break time for the protest on Wednesday were several who complained of being bullied and harassed by warehouse managers. But a Linfox spokesman said the company did not tolerate bullying, and had strict processes in place to deal with complaints over workplace issues.
He also questioned whether the timing of the dispute was related to a battle between two unions over who controlled membership at the centre, which employs about 700 people.
The protests were organised by the National Union of Workers.
Penny Palmer, who had worked at the Linfox Coles warehouse as a casual agency employee, said she was unfairly dismissed after accusing a colleague of sexual harassment.
Linfox has denied the union’s claims.
