BIG DAY OUT FOR LITTLE KIDS

Children under six were treated to free activities at Scienceworks on Monday, including a performance by Rick Plant and Sherry Rich from The Mudcakes, to celebrate the launch of Children’s Week. Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development Wendy Lovell attended the ‘Little Kids’ Day In’ at Spotswood and urged parents to take advantage this week of hundreds of free events and activities for children aged up to eight.

Hobsons Bay locals can share their passion for creative initiatives using waste materials, upcycling and recycling at this event. Transition Hobsons Bay’s updated Recycling Guide will be available and there will be a display of upcycled items. 6.30pm tomorrow at Altona library, 123 Queen Street, Altona. Cost: plate to share or gold coin donation.

OPEN DAY

Yarraville Community Centre has an open day from 4pm-7pm tomorrow. There will be free classes for adults and children, food trucks, a jumping castle, live music and dance displays. 59 Francis Street, Yarraville.
