VTCA: Yarraville Club in run spree against Hoppers

Yarraville Club has issued a timely warning that it is still a force to be reckoned with in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division.

The Clubbers whacked a hapless Hoppers Crossing to all sections of the Walker Oval en route to a huge 6-383 off 80 overs on Saturday.

In north division, Spotswood rolled Footscray United for just 74 and has already wrapped up first innings points with 3-175 on the board.

Charlie Guerrera has bowled Altona North into a winning position against Royal Park-Brunswick. Guerrera took 7-46 off 21 as the Royals were all out for 128. North powered to 2-96 at stumps.

The outlook for Laverton (67 and 2-2) is bleak after 21 wickets fell on day one of its clash with West Coburg (9-99dec).

In north A1, St Andrews has been set a 389 victory target by Taylors Lakes, while Altona Roosters (120) are in a spot of bother against Haig Fawkner (4-65).

In west B1, Kingsville Baptists (170) are in with a fighting chance against impressive newcomer Newport-Digman (4-72). Barkly Street Uniting amassed 176 against Deer Park-Ardeer (3-62), while Footscray ANA has been set 244 for victory at home against Sunshine United.
