Police are hunting a “scruffy-looking” man after a 14-year-old girl was assaulted in Laverton North earlier this month.
A police spokeswoman said the teenager was walking along Fitzroy Street, Laverton North, about 7.30am on November 7 when she noticed an unkempt man get out of a faded red car.
He then approached the girl and grabbed hold of her arm.
The girl was able to break free from his grasp and run away, while the man returned to his vehicle and fled the scene.
The teenager was not injured.
Police are now searching for the man who is described as aged in his late 40s, Caucasian with fair skin, bald, brown and grey-coloured long beard and is of medium build.
He was wearing black sunglasses, a black leather jacket with front pockets and navy blue overalls with pockets on the legs.
Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
