Yarraville Markets celebrates five successful years this weekend with a birthday bonanza.
Organisers Lou Pennisi and Karen Watkins put the success of the markets down to a warm and friendly environment that appeals to people of all age groups.
“The community has embraced their existence,” Ms Pennisi said.
“Being nestled in amongst Yarraville Village means locals have more options to choose from on their shopping adventures.”
Ms Watkins said the boutique-style market attracted emerging designers and artists, and more than 500 stallholders have featured in the past five years.
“It is a great platform to kickstart their careers and aspirations for the future,” she said.
Birthday celebrations will include craft activities for children and competitions, from 10am-5pm on Saturday at the Masonic Hall, Willis Street, Yarraville.
