West carols season in full swing

There’s Christmas cheer in the air in the west with ‘carols season’ in full swing.

The Kingsville carols last Thursday attracted families from far and wide and featured opera star Antoinette Halloran, school choirs and a visit from Santa.

The free Yarraville community carols event will be held in Yarraville Gardens from 7-10.30pm this Saturday, while Hobsons Bay Churches, a network of the city’s Christian churches, will hold carols at Trafalgar Avenue Community Centre in Altona Meadows, also on Saturday, from 8pm, with children’s activities from 6pm.

Williamstown’s carols, presented by Hobsons Bay Churches, will be at the rotunda in Commonwealth Reserve on Sunday from 8pm after children’s activities from 6pm. In the event of inclement weather, carols will move to St Mary’s Catholic Church.
