Women working in the fields of art and politics will share their pearls of wisdom in an International Women’s Day symposium at Footscray Community Arts Centre.
Facilitated by Jean Ker Walsh, the Women, Art and Politics 1984 symposium will ask women leaders across art and politics to share insight into their experiences with alumni from the Emerging Cultural Leaders program.
Among those attending will be artist Heather Horrock and Footscray MP Marsha Thomson.
The conversation about the politics of being a woman, about the art of politics and about the politics of art is the second in a series celebrating 40 years of the arts centre.
The symposium is at Performance Space, 3-5pm on Friday.
