Model of housing ‘affordability’ in West Footscray

The developers behind a housing project being constructed in West Footscray say the venture could stand as a new model for affordable housing.

Trinity Apartments is a 24-apartment, federal government-backed ‘national rental affordability scheme’ development on Geelong Road being designed and developed by Longboat Development Group.

Residents will receive a 20 per cent rental break for up to 10 years as well as reduced energy bills from apartments averaging a 7.2-star energy rating.

Company director Theodore Kerlidis said the model might change the way people understand affordable housing. “We’re delivering on our vision for sustainable, affordable housing in West Footscray.”
