The colourful cultures of the Pacific will be on show for all to share this weekend when a Contemporary Pacific Arts Festival Community Day dawns in Footscray.
Organiser Pauline Vetuna says Saturday’s community day, presented in partnership with Footscray Community Arts Centre,
will feature craft, dance and music workshops, market and food stalls, and performances.
There will be a Pacific welcome ceremony, and a free riverside concert will feature performers including Rize of the Morning Star, Nuholani and Mother of Pearl, and emcee SistaNative.
The festival opening is from 6-9pm on Friday at FCAC, Roslyn Smorgon Gallery.
The opening will include dance performances.
